MAP Elects New Executive Committee Members & Office Bearers

13th August 2021, Karachi

Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) elected new Office Bearers in its 576th Executive Committee meeting held on 13th August 2021 in Karachi. The new Office Bearers are: Mr. Talib S. Karim – President, Mr. Humayun Akhlaq – Vice President, Mr. Abid Akber Vazir – Honorary Secretary and Mr. Farrukh V. Junaidy – Honorary Treasurer. Earlier, during the Extra Ordinary General Meeting held on 30th July 2021, results for the ten positions of the MAP’s Executive Committee were announced.

Following Executive Committee members were declared elected unopposed for the period 2021-2024: Mr. Abid Akber Vazir, Executive Director Cherat Cement, Mr. Amir J. Abbasi, Sr. Partner KPMG, Mr. Farrukh V. Junaidy, Sr. Partner Junaidy Shoaib Asad Chartered Accountants, Mr. Hassan Khan, MD / CE Jubilee General Insurance, Mr. Humayun Akhlaq, CEO / Country Head Schneider Electric Pakistan, Mr. Khalid Zaman Khan, SEVP Group Head HR, Learning & Development, Meezan Bank, Ms. Saadia Naveed, Dy Managing Director, EBM, Mr. Sultan Rehman, Coordinator FPCCI, Mr. Talib S. Karim, President IoBM, Mr. Zubair Haider, CEO Lumina Consulting Services Pvt Ltd. Mr. Salah Uddin continues to be the Executive Director.

MAP is a professional Association, a not-for-profit and a non-political organization. The Association has an elected board of directors, i.e. the Executive Committee, comprising of corporate leaders from Pakistan’s top-notch companies.

Since its inception in 1964, MAP has dedicated its efforts in promoting professionalism in management disciplines and best management practices. The primary objective before the Association has always been to stimulate interest in, and disseminate knowledge about modern managerial practices and techniques. The Association has flourished for over 55 years as an apex forum for training and communication of ideas in the field of management in Pakistan. Over last fifty-five years, the Association has organized about 1714 Seminars and Training Courses with over sixty-one thousand participants so far having benefited from such programs.

While some members join the Management Association of Pakistan simply for the intangible benefit of supporting the mission of the organization, others join to benefit from MAP’s training programs and networking opportunities. Whichever the case, MAP members are entitled to a wide range of tangible benefits such as participating in annual Conventions, Corporate Excellence Awards, benefits through MAP’s membership of the Asian Association of Management Organizations viz. Online Asian Management Games, Young Managers Program, etc. MAP’s Vision is To Lead the Change Process towards Best Management Practices.
